3RTS History and Background
My idea of an International Non-Profit Humanitarian Demining Group that offered much more than demining services was first conceived in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan during 2003 and 2004. Basically, I was tired of the haphazard manner many companies that I had worked for approached and conducted Unexploded Ordnance clearance and Demining projects. The ingratitude of upper management for the performance of employees in the field was appalling. The constant fighting for contracts also did not appeal to me.
I envisioned a Non-Profit Corp. with a Staff of true professionals, not wall-papered sit on their bums, but men who have had the background in hands on field work. I believe we have assembled the best personnel available, a truly International Staff.
There are plenty of opportunities to assist countries around the world that do not have the financial resources to hire professional demining services nor the technical ability to do the work themselves, and many countries hold little if any for profit interest.
Ideas moved to paper and the actual incorporation of 3rd Rock Technical Services in Alaska was completed in February 2008.
